In an effort to reduce costs and better serve current DOAS Mail and Courier customers, beginning July 1, 2011, the Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) outsourced its mail and courier services. Through a competitive bid process, the organization selected to take on these duties is IKON Office Solutions, Inc., and we are confident they will continue the fine service you have come to expect from the DOAS Mail and Courier team. For years, DOAS has delivered office sorting, courier and mail services for our state customers. However, rising operational costs have threatened our ability to be competitive and aggregate savings. Rather than transfer these costs to our customers, DOAS has sought outside assistance.
IKON is a full-service document management services company offering assorted mail services for various companies throughout Atlanta. Many of you may already be familiar with IKON, as they are currently our document services vendor that offers document reproduction and print options in the Twin Towers, Paul Coverdale Legislative Office Building and 2 Peachtree locations. Quality services, customer excellence and industry experience combined, IKON is ideally positioned to address the state's mail and courier needs as well.
Great due diligence was exerted to select an organization that would aptly continue the services and customer excellence you have grown to expect throughout the years. Additionally, we are doing our best to make the transition as smooth as possible. IKON will meet with agencies currently contracted with us, to ease the transition and ensure continuity in service.
We believe this change in business operations will be beneficial for DOAS and the state in our quest to serve state customers better. We are always searching for new ways to streamline operations and deliver service excellence. In fact, the State Purchasing Division is currently working on a statewide contract for presort mail—a service that, along with our other mail and document services, should translate into ultimate cost-efficiency for our customers. |
